Looking out the window, I marvelled at the monstrous expanse of land that Russia boasts of. The winding bodies of water that were lakes, rivers and ocean, are all now frozen to a perfect shade of white amidst the thick, lush greenery and toy-like looking houses. The last few moments of daylight peeked out from behind the clouds and it was a breathtaking sight of orangey-pink hues with greyish-blue shadows. I thank my lucky stars for the chance to see this amazing sight, for it will forever be imprinted in my mind =)

"Reality is an illusion that occurs due to the lack of alcohol." (Yes, I'm an alchie, so sue me.) We all choose to live in a world of make-believe because honestly, the truth hurts. So now, the question is, is ignorance bliss? Is reality just too hard to swallow? Or is honesty really the best policy? You tell me...

How can something so wrong feel so good? Is it human nature to crave for the forbidden fruit? Do we really only appreciate things more when there are mountains to climb and hurdles to cross? And when we finally get there, do we let it all slip through our fingers in a flash because the challenge is no longer there? What I'm saying is, appreciate the things you have. The family who've stood by you even though you've stabbed a knife through their hearts a million times when you were overcome by stupidity. The friends, who've spent countless nights, loaning you their shoulders and ears, experiencing your heartache as if it were their own. And the loved ones, who've held your hand when it seems like the world was coming down on you, who've smiled and offered to be your sandbag when you were throwing silly tantrums, and who kiss you for absolutely no reason at all, simply because they love you for you. All I'm saying is, don't cherish something only when you've lost it. Embrace it tight because you never know..

Saw the most beautiful sunrise from 10,000ft above on the last day of 2007. Maybe it was a different way to 'end' the year..instead of watching fireworks at the stroke of midnight, I watched the dawn of the last day. The luminous pink and orange hues of the skies, made the clouds look like yummy cotton candy, and the shadows that casted over the waters, actually made our usual slimey green seas look inviting. Au revoir 2007, Bonjour 2008! Happy New Year everyone!
