I want so badly to touch you
Can you feel my desperation as I lay my head upon your chest
No remnants of desire, as it has left me
Just the need to be held
As your hand strokes my hair and I wrap you in my arms
They look on and say I must be loved so
But they are unaware it is pity or platonic affection at best…
If I told you to kiss me and make it all better,
Would you?

Perfectly agonizing, her form in my arms
As she looks up at me with her latest gossip
I think of how her lips are mere inches from mine,
And wonder at how she must feel so at home with me
So that she doesn’t even think of what she does
I walk her where she wills
To watch her walk away
I talk away her chills
If only to talk to her
I have been so close to her naked
I do not know if she knows.

What am I missing
Why is it him that you're kissing?
All those moments I listened
To words that could christen
This final decision

But reciprocal admiration is missing
There is no heartfelt admission
