When I pick up the pen
I want it to stop
The silver tongue devils
Waiting to make you cry

My angels laughed into a misery
Forgotten of me
That I begged you to force a wish
I began to laugh of words unspoken

From behind the liquid landscapes
Faded out dreams
Same old promises
From the inside out

That caused the darkness to turn to light
So racing passed the moon kissed clouds
To banish the shadows into oblivion
That almost called me beautiful

Make it known tonight
I am known as your everything
The pen may be present
But the paper is thin

Dying a little bit more along the way
This life I’ve tried to make my own
I wondered where my flame disappeared to
My dreams confusing them to be more

Boxed against the wall
It climbs out of bondage reflection
Bent on my destruction
So I just look away

With fire eyes and razor lips
It lies when I’m not lying
And I prayed to god for cocaine
Silencing deceptive messengers

I swore into a cuss of a word
That turned red; painted into the sky
As I said goodbye
With thoughts heavy and purpose clear

I swung a scythe of prayers in your name
The sky darkened and filled
Demons fell in their angelic disguise
As I spoke your name into the sunrise

If it’s silence you’re really looking for
To the lying pen
The outspoken fool
Either voices are lost

Could I remember how soft innocence feels…

Masochistic stares on smooth supernova scars
I crashed down like a deck of cards
Suffocating on the things I couldn’t bring myself to say
Wishing for a center alignment to show you that every piece is here to stay

Your eyes, a crimson red to which they blind me from a distance
“Beautiful disaster”, you cried out with no resistance
Your heart lurked around, its claws writing its name onto mine
….Love hurts sometimes….

Beneath black sheets that painted your eyes darker than they seem
I will pour my soul into your emptiness if you will share yours into thee
But love upon an empty heart to fill up one’s glass and drink me forever…
So every dirty part of you I could cleanse with my desire

To you I wasn’t as broken as I seemed
I couldn’t break your spirits if I tried
Your pieces shattered like a mirror before my eyes
One section at a time

You breathed fire into my lungs and burned my heart with a deceiving kiss
Beautiful purity covered up your sins
But even behind those eyes, I could still taste your lies

the voices are here

the voices that creep up from behind
lurk inside and feed on my mind
the words that are spoken
are all of promises that were broken

was it me or is it you
the whispers i get, i feel is true
you broke the promise and told a lie
now my mind will suffer and the voices will cry

all the "truths" that you have told
will start to unravel and begin to unfold
i fear they will come for you one day
but for now it is with me that they will stay

time draws up like a blade
words miss everything except the empty air
memories left unrewarded
emotions said enough

call the sorcerer
to conjure up bad dreams

got to see
to believe or test the waters
what he serves come at a fee
speak for it when the beat's flowing

harmony could fuck with Superman like it's Louis
what you believe can ruin thee
assuming we're the answer to this
and nothing less

the cracks in the egos
of outspoken heroes
got crazy demands
i try and meet those

what you believe to be repetitive gibberish
is actually edited english
sprinkled with godly sentiments in it
i suspect there is a hidden wisdom

Mask of Africa

Freedom move aside and do make way
As Africa stumbles and falls away
Hard work, blood, sweat and tears
All for nothing as the end draws near

What is mine is yours and yours stay the same
"Caring" and "trust" is all just a big game
Spending our money and dodging their fate
It's a language they speak and refuse to translate

Apartheid lives on with a new identity crowned
It's called BEE and new victims they have found
Casting a role is easier said than done
Through their veins "honesty" must run

Promises of peace echo through the land
What a colourful picture - just rain and sand
Violence is the way or so they've been told
To get what they want and have a firm hold

How long until you face what's going on?
