Countess Erzsébet Báthory killed 612 women -- and in her diary, she documented their deaths. She became known as "Hungary's national monster," and was (along with Vlad Dracul) the model for Bram Stoker's Dracula. This latter claim, however, is often disputed
Amongst her numerous acts and tortures, the accusation that Bathory drained the blood of her victims and bathed in it was what earned her the title of a vampire. It is also noted that she occasionally bit the flesh of the girls during their torture. It is said that the reason Bathory bathed in blood was to retain her youthful looks and beauty, and she was, by all accounts, a most attractive woman.

Marie de Brinviliers: She was a spoiled daughter of a prominent Parisian family. She murdered her father, two brothers and possibly 50 other people as well. She used a posion that she would test on patients at a hospital. In July of 1676 she was beheaded for her crimes in front of Notre Dame Cathedral.

3. The "Iceman" Richard Kulinksi. Richard Kuklinski (April 11, 1935 – March 5, 2006) was a convicted murderer who was a notorious hit man known as "The Iceman" who was a known Hitman for all the local mafia families. He was the older brother of Joseph Kuklinski. As a young man, Richard was known for being very offensive, not hesitating to strike anyone that rubbed him the wrong way. He always carried at least two derengers and a knife on his person while on the streets for protection. He stated that his first murder was in 1949 at the age of fourteen, when he beat a bully to the death. He felt terrible the first time and was very upset since the death was unintentional. However, he also felt a rush and began to love the rush and feeling of power that he got from beating other people or killing them. By the 1960s, he had become a well known street tough and pool hustler.

In 1960 he met a woman named Barbara, who thought he was incredibly sweet by delivering flowers to her door every day and buying her gifts frequently. They had three children, but he was not able to get a good enough job to support the family since he only had an eighth grade education. He worked at a film lab, where he pirated pornographic films and sold them to people connected with the Gambino Crime Family. Soon he was doing hit jobs for the family, working with a gang that operated from the Gemini Lounge in Brooklyn. Kuklinski's brutality allowed him to collect money from debtors, who paid with either their money, or their lives. In the basement of the Gemini Lounge, bodies were hacked up and carried out wrapped in plastic to be disposed of. Because of the fear that Kuklinski inspired in people, most people repaid their debts to the family.

2. Ed Gein: The is an hour long special on the infamous and very creepy Ed Gein. Edward Gein was an unausuming man that lived in Plainfield, Wisconsin. Though only two murders on his part were proven, he gained great infamy due to his having had sex with dug-up corses (which involved the skinning of his murder victims and exhumed corpses, the decoration of his home with parts of corpses, and the creation of articles of clothing and furniture from the skin of corpses). Searching the house, authorities found:

human skulls mounted upon the cornerposts of his bed;
human skin fashioned into a lampshade and used to upholster chair seats;
human skullcaps, apparently in use as soup bowls;
a human heart in a saucepan on the stove,
the head of Mary Hogan, a local tavern owner, found in a paper bag;
a ceiling light pull consisting of human lips;
a "mammary vest" crafted from the skin of a woman's torso;
a belt made from several humannipples, among many other such grisly objects;
socks made from human flesh.
Gein eventually admitted under questioning that he would dig up the graves of recently buried middle-aged women he thought resembled his mother and take the bodies home, where he tanned their skin to make his macabre possessions. Gein inspired the following movies: Pyscho, Silence of the lambs, and also Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

1. David Berkowitz: The Son of Sam murders. He paralized an entire city with his infamous "45 caliber killer" murders. Shortly after his arrest in 1977, Berkowitz confessed to killing six people and wounding seven others during eight shootings in New York City between 1976 and 1977. He has been imprisoned for the crimes since 1977. The crimes had terrorized New York for a year, and earned publicity due to Berkowitz's claim that a neighbor's dog was possessed by a demon that commanded Berkowitz to kill.
