An original super short story... I decided to take the term 'tales' literally... ______________________________________________________________________ "Look, look!" he cried out, pointing to something somewhere off in a distance.
Jacqueline turned to look where her nephew, Pierre, had pointed to. She saw nothing.
"What am I looking for?"
"Do you not see him?"
Jacqueline sensed his honest confusion. She looked again. Again, her eyes saw nothing but the vast expanse of farm land they were on. Now she was confused.
"Pierre... I see nothing. We've been here for some time now, the sun is unnaturally hot today...."
"I am not hallucinating!" he retorted hotly.
"Of course not," she said, her tone delicate. "Perhaps we should go back in?"
He looked at her critically, then his eyes turned back to where he had /seen/ something.
"He's not there anymore," he said.
"He?"
"Oui. Let's go back."
They walked back together to the farmhouse, aunt and nephew quietly contemplating, but their quiet contemplation was broken when Jacqueline pushed open the door.
A man, whose shoulder frame was smaller than Pierre's 20 year old frame, stood directly opposite them, his bright brown eyes staring at them unwaveringly.
"You!" said Pierre shocked.
