So this is why i shouldn't go snowboarind, but i will anyways. this last thursday i went up for the first time this season. it was the first run and everything was going great....especially since i hadn't been boarding in two years.
anyways everything is going fine and then all of a sudden the front edge of my board catches something. i'm about to face plant but i manage to catch myself with my hands first. i kind of do a cartwheel, but my elbows also ram into my chest in the process.
when i finally stop rolling i'm on my stomach unable to inhale, but i can exhale. it hurt really f'ing bad...but i only thought i was winded at the time. so when i get my breath back enough i finish the run down the mountain and go into the ski lodge to take some Alieve. needless to say the pain didn't really go away and it hurt so terribly bad just to breath, so we go to first aid to see if i'm alright.
well what they find is that i don't have any internal bleeding, but they couldn't tell if i had a broken rib or if it was just bruised. so later that day we have to go to the er to get an x-ray...we are at the hospital for over 3 hours for them to tell me i only have a bruised rib...but they were nice enough to give me perscriptions for ibprofin and vicodin YAY. though i have had a hard time staying lucid when the pain meds are really working.
anyways that's my story for the moment.
