So it's been a while since I last posted anything with substance here on HP; and reading through my previous tales one thing has become apparent to me as I reflect back upon them - life's turns have made me somewhat jaded in comparison to that younger Jako. The younger me had big dreams and ideals, some have been fulfilled and some not - I can't say I'm unhappy about how things turned out so far. The challenges I've come across in life so far, I believe, have not broken me - but made me stronger. Somehow though - while this is true; it also seems to have caused me to lose joy in some aspects of my life. I'd sure like to gain back some of that naive optimism I had once - unfortunately, I realise that's not going to happen. What's the point of this reflection you ask? I don't know, I'm a work in progress and don't have all the answers :)

A work environment is not a natural place to be - not for me. I can't get over the atmosphere feeling alien, even though you get along great with everyone. Why is this? Do you feel like this?

It's difficult for me to view people I work with as people sometimes, I see them more like worker drones, slaving away for something, some grand goal. I have no grand goal - this is leading to potential disaster...

How are you? Oh fine thanks - how was your weekend? Do you ever get bored of this line? I sure do - and I wish I could start a conversation in a better way.

It seems people these days live in the I-want-it-now world *thanks to the information age where eveything is at our fingertips*. We gut frustrated when we have to wait for something, why can't it just be there? -.-

My point is - is this hurting the way people approach relationships as well? Is the information age having an impact on the way people view relationships? I for one can testify that having loving relations with people can easily be substituted for an electronic device where you can enjoy yourself, chat, play games, etc. Indeed I think this will have lasting, long-term consequences for many people.

So I haven't exactly been a saint on HP the last year or so - I apologize to anyone I might have offended on here. Seeing the hurt I caused has led me to realize what I was doing - I won't do it again, it's my word to you.

To anyone else - corruption is a slow, painless process. Don't let it get to you, be vigilant.
