Gary Gygax has passed away today, to most reading this, you will not be affected, infact you may ask, 'Who's Gary Gygax?'
But to others, those who know his name and feel the sorrow rising, they will proclaim a toast for this great man.
Gary was not someone important to everyone, yes most will pass through life not knowing his name, not knowing his deeds, but to some, us, Tabletop Warriors, we know of him, and we bow our heads in Respect.
Gary Gygax is best known for being the Co-Creator of Dungeons & Dragons, and the Father of Modern Tabletop Gaming, born in 1938, he became a fantasy fan in 1950 at the age of twelve, he was also the one who formed Gen Con, the largest convention of Tabletop Gaming in the world.
I call out to my fellow Adventurers, do not let Gary Gygax be forgotten in the sands of time, we shall continue adventuring, recruiting new players, and introducing the new generations to our beloved Game, for as long as we delve into dungeons for glory and treasure, as long as our characters live and die, as long as Dungeons & Dragons is known to the world, Gary shall live on among us, he is you, he is I, he is our friends and Family, he is all of us now. All of us carry a part of him in our hearts.
Goodnight Sweet Prince,
The True O.G.M (Original Game Master), The Greatest Tabletop Warrior, The Father of Modern Tabletop Gaming.
May Tiamat Consume you fully, and your character sheet be burned, may Pelor keep your bones warm until the end of time.
Rest in Peace our friend,
Gary Gygax
