I watched 'The Oxford Murders' the other night, starring John Hurt and Elijah Wood. My god that boy bugs the living s*** out of me! He's a stoopeedo actor.
Don't bother renting this movie. It sucks. They were trying to be intelligent. They forgot that to do this one has to initially possess some intelligence. The mickey-mouse, disjointed efforts at explaining quantum physics by using Da Vinci Code-type flash back scenes and lots of numbers swimming around the screen were the result of forgetting this important fact.
So clap clap, well done guys..
Even John Hurt seemed to be doing a lot of over acting.

This is certainly a first for me.. I got a phone call at six yesteday from Mike, a guy who runs some gigs in Cork, telling me that I was playing a gig last night (supposedly) in the Slate, but he forgot to tell me!! So he thought he would ring me and warn me that if I saw my name in the paper over the weekend mentioning the gig, that was what had happened. Obviously it was a bit late to make it to Cork for eight at that stage. So I sang Kareoke instead in The Paragon.. Good, eh??

Note to Mike: in future, try telling the person they're playing before advertising it!!

I hope he made up a really good excuse for my no show, like 'unfortunately Jessie can't be with us tonight as she has had to go into rehab at short notice', or how about
'Jessie will not be performing tonight as she is suffering from exhaustion' (I always love that one) :P
