The Lasting Love of Blossoms

Narrator: The setting of our loving story takes place at a beautiful pond in a peaceful forest near a small cottage where a lovely young lady lives. Her name is Isabella and she was alone, but always spends her time with nature and others near her. Although she lives alone, there is a village not very far from her cottage. Often, she notices a young man, William, walking by to spend some time alone and away from his worries. One day as she strolls along the flower path, she spots him quietly sleeping against one of her blossom trees.

Isabella: I do wonder why he is here this early in the morning. Perhaps he has not gone home all night. Oh dear, he must be freezing; I shall lend him my cloak otherwise he will become ill.

Narrator: As Isabella gently places her bright, silken red cloak over him, William slowly awakens from his peaceful hour of sleep.

William: Why, excuse me, but why are you here at this hour?

Isabella: Oh, I come here every morning to pick some fresh blossomed flowers I have planted. I was taking a serene walk when I saw you sleeping ever so gentle on one of these blossom trees I’ve planted when I was young. I thought you might catch a cold so I was trying to place my cloak over you to prevent it from happening. I’m ever so sorry if I have disturbed you from your tender slumber.

William: It’s quite alright. It was about time I’ve awoken from my deep slumber. I’m William from Blasia village; it’s not far from here. I’ve seen you around during my last few days here, but did not quite catch your name.

Isabella: My name is Isabella and it’s quite a pleasure to get acquainted with you. I live alone in my cottage over the hills. I can assure you this meadow and the beauties of the plants are all grown by me. You are welcome here any time and stay if you like.

William: Isabella is a beautiful name and thank you for having me stay at any time here in this wonderful meadow of yours.

Narrator: Although it has been a short while, they both feel something between them. They see each other every day to speak of various things. Weeks had gone by and they slowly fall in love with each other. Even though it has happened in a short amount of time, they feel distant at times. One evening, William is having dinner with Isabella when they begin to discuss the distant feeling.



William: Isabella, I have something important to tell you and I can not hold this off any longer.

Narrator: At first, she thinks William is going to propose to her because she knows deep in her heart that he loves her.

William: First, I want you to know that I love you very much and that I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Even though I feel this way, I can not be with you anymore. I can not quite explain to you because I feel so confused and it hurts me very much to tell you so.

Isabella: Why are you telling me such things? You tell me you love me so and yet you can not be with me? Do you understand the feelings I have right now? Do you know how much it hurts just from hearing those few words? Why do you want to leave me?

William: It is not as easy as it seems. It is also not what you think it is. I really do not want to leave you and I really want to be with you, but I can not. You do not understand what I am going through. It is so hard to try and tell you without hurting both of us.

Isabella: I do not want to hear any of it. I feel as if you have been lying to me all this time. Although it was a short moment, but I know I love you. If you can not tell me, then I can not understand it. I really do not know what to do now. I really do not know and it hurts….it just hurts…..

William: I feel you will not understand at all. I just can not stay with you. Can you not understand that?!

Isabella: Why do you scream at me for something I can not understand because you do not make it clear?

William: I am very sorr
