Hey all, really funny story of events this last weekend.

Whent out fishing for mudcrabs in agnes waters, with my landlord. in his 12 foot tinny, no motor, just oars. got in the water at about 5:00, dropped some crab pots and turned around, by this time it was getting dark, and we were fairly sure that we would be back on land soon, turns out that we missed the creek, in favour of the main channel. thinking that it was further up stream on we rowed, it started to rain, hard and cold. it was dark and we were begining to have doubts as to where we were. the rain stopped for a breif time, and we saw a search rescue helicopter, flying about with the search light on!! They were coming closer and checking the creek that we were in we thought maybe somebody, had called to say that we haddent come back yet. but no. the beam of the helicpoters search light came so close that, we were sure to spotted but they missed us, who knows what they were looking for? we keep on rowing up stream. it rains some more, so we set down the beer and bail for a while. makes the boat lighter, easier to row. so on we go the creek gets narrower and narrower, surely we must be there! no boat ramp in sight, anywhere. But we can see street lights and they are close, there were houses around where we left from, so we've got to be close. tide has run out and the creek is too narrow and too shallow. Screw it!! we say we'll go to the nearest light and see if we know where we are. So we tie the boat up and grab the esky. walking though the mangroves in the dark, slippery mud under our feet, dark sky, trees and branches all out sight just waiting to poke our feet and slap us in the face. we come across a mus flat, the walking gets easy, we can see the street lights again, so on we go, now there is only a small stretch of rainforest, broken sicks, and big fat cold drops of rain falling off of the leaves. A Road!! 100m on and somebodies house!! we knock on the door, muddy, wet, drinking beer, and carrying an esky. this old comes to the door and joins us for beer. we find out where we are and tell our story. it's only 9 o'clock. he doesn't have a car, just a motorbike, he can't take us anywhere, he says town is 3kilometers to the left on the main road. we think about it, no taxi. But! there is a free shuttle bus to the bar!! we ring him up and he's there shortly. To the bar we go carrying an esky. Stay there for a while and have some rum. after many many rums we caught the shuttle bus to where we are supposed to be staying. which is 5 kilometers in the other direction from town and crash. in the morning we had brekkie, and caught a lift to the old guy's place, found our tracks from the night before, under water in lots of places, but still visable, the tide was in. Our tracks even led straight the boat!! we get in and row back. we found our crab pots and they had crabs in them!!, right time to find the ute and boatramp. upstream again, and we made the same wrong turn, but this time being unsure as to where we were, we truned back after 10 meters and went up this little side creek real close to to where our pots were and hesitated, turned back, the water is too shallow for a tinny at high tide. back in the main channel, turn back, after agureing for a bit. there is a deep narrow channel in the little creek. we come to the first turn, and there's our boat ramp!!! yea!!!!!!
so back to land and to cook the crab!!!!!! we catch them all again as we had just let them wander about in the boat and have a feed!! on our way back, we stopped for fuel and found we had a hitch hicker. we had missed one crab in the boat, after all our sreaching, feeling about with fingers we missed it. how lucky are we!!

new years in seventeen seventy a seventies disco party at the pub the first and last new years party at this place because consmerism is tearing it down and putting up apartments.

It was thee best new years i've had this year, Real groovy, the pub is right by the ocean and has a great view, We partied on groovin the beat, in the most seventies ish clothes we could find, All us backpackers did anyways, it was packed, at the ring of the bell it was bottoms up and then kissing random place and wishing happy new year, lots of camera flahses and merriment. the memories have yet to be seen. I'm sure there is going to be some suprises!! So we danced and grooved and drank inot the new year the pub shut so we all got take aways and to the beach!! more random parties!! and the first sunrise in the new year, a long slow calculating stumble back to the hostel, followed with lots of questions about where we are as we got lost several times, eventually made it and chrash. The following morning, which was actually afternoon, i was thirsty for some reason as i had thought that i drank enough last night! and now i relate this story to you
