The Tale of the Village Idiot

Once upon a time, a feisty female set out to conquer the world, or at least find her place in it. Having travelled, lived, worked and vacationed in many different places, she noticed a pattern. Whenever she would seek out an evening in a new town, looking to meet some new people, it became apparent that if she were to go to a pub, the first person to introduce themselves would be "The Village Idiot" Usually with some clever "I havent seen you here before" comment. She would often respond with " I havent seen you here before either. We have so much in common already we should get married"

Further to her experience, a dear friend moves to the village. The two go out for an evening on the town together. Not knowing exactly WHO the village idiot was, because they sometimes take turns, imagine her surprise when he walked up to the bar, called her by NAME for the first time in 5 years, and asked to be introduced to her pretty friend. The response was "This is my friend Christine, and Christine, do you know who this is???? HAHAHA
