Hi Everyone, Don't know about you guys, but I feel the winter weather has been around long enough, well for me anyway. My winter started mid February when myself and two daughters went to Germany to visit and support family, although they were getting on for spring there, the tempretures were the same as our winter. Although cold we did'nt feel it much as we were too busy taking in the sights. Then it was on to Canada, that was really wonderful, even if the theme seemed to say let it snow, let it snow, let it snow........I loved it......donned the necessary and went out and about. Then we come home just as our winter is starting, and after 2 months, enough now. Scrubbing the pool 3 times a week and not being able to use it, is no fun! At least I can cheer myself up with the knowledge that when the warm weather comes it will be readyto go. Hopefully middle to end September.....feels like forever..... Yesterday we had a little glimmer of the warm weather in store, almost 30 degrees, but the water was icy..... Anyway that's all for now, will chat later...... Stay well

Went to the Canadian Mountains the weekend of 17 April, for a getaway and to celebrate my brothers birthday. The afternoon we arrived at the Jasper National Park was amazing, the weather was nice even sunny, saw lots of animals. Could'nt decide if they were elk or carribou, but hey we did'nt care lucky to see anything. plenty of mountain goat, some buffaloand bighorn. Then after supper went for a walk through the town, deciding which shops we were going to shop at the next day. The following daywas not as rosy, we woke to the wonderful colour of white, and strong wind, that required 3 fleecy jackets, scarves, gloves and caps, comming from South Africa those things are foreign to us , but we managed and were able to shop...... Then it was on to Banff. Banff is a wonderful place,a very picturesque place that describing won't do justice, you have to see it for yourself, we saw it under heaps of snow and slush and thought it amazing, next time hope to see it in the summer. Although it snowed on and off thewhole time we were around ther we still had a good time, after all does it ever snow in South Africa???A bit of fluff in winter if your lucky.....The Anthabascas Falls reminded me somewhat of the Bourkes Luck Potholes but on a much grander scale.Lake Louise was very impressive and the hotel very grand....on the whole we had a wonderful time and did to many things to mention....Pity about all the vehicles we saw wipe out on the way home due to the snowy and icy conditions.......

Been out and about lately, went to the Royal Tyrrell Museum in the little town of Drumheller, to look at the dinosaurs. I always though of them as being those plastic toys your children played with or a heap of dry old bones all dusty and dirty, but this place was amazing. they had everything in wonderful exibits, bones you could feel and touch others that you were not allowed to touch. ( pics on facebook). Dinosaurs from land, sea and plant. Also went to Horse shoe canyon, bet you could shoot a few western type movies there. also went to see the Hoodoos, big rock formations caused by wind erosion over millions of years that look something like giant mushrooms. Climbed up through this giant tyrannosaurus, you come up through it's "bottom" and come out through its mouth and get this wonderful view of the town, the only downer is its a 4 storey climb.....Drumheller was a coal mining town, but it still lives on.......

Wow, Canada looks like a beautiful country, wide open spaces ,clean and snowy.. ....If you breath through your nose your nose hair freezes and through the mouth your teeth feel as though you've just bitten into an ice-cream. Cost co is great like a giant Makro, fruit, veg, meat , ready meals, alles. And you get to have tasties so you know what your food purchases taste like. Some-one tell Makro... will tell tales later, it's only been two days......

Went out and about yesterday, just north of NeuBeckum to a little town of Warendorf. Loverly narrow cobbled, and brick streets, you almost forget to look both ways when crossing the streets not expecting to see any vehicles. Tudor style etc. houses unfortunately with tile and not thatch roofs, but so ancient looking that you expect some bard to step out and recite something. Luckily we did'nt freeze to death it was after all 10.5 degrees cel. We had a nice time browzing and taking pic.s of which some are on face book..Thanks for your time.
