"When you have something you don't want to lose, it's a matter of whether you can just take that one step, even if you look pathetic, perhaps."
In life, there are bound to be things in which you don't want to lose.
Eg. Beg someone for that 'thing' or really work hard for that 'thing'.
In relationship, you might be the one who always have to take initiative or take the first step.
You always 'give' but nothing to 'take' in return even though you don't mind if you don't have any to 'take'.
But until you reach up to a point when you're really exhausted in 'giving' and hope he/she would just 'return' you with that 'tweeny bit'.
He/she still isn't 'giving'.
At that point, you feel like giving up.
But human in nature would just keep giving even though the other party isn't responding, it seems like we are pathetic or desperate for it, that's because we don't want to lose what we really want or need.
To me, it's more like trying our very best to get it.
Even though at the end of it, it might not turn out the way you want, but at the very least, you've done what you can to get it so there's not regrets.
