1. henry rollins - it's the chin. and the fact that he was in black flag, which is probably the greatest band in the world, besides the misfits.

2. glenn danzig 15 years ago - he WAS the misfits. he wrote all the music for their early material in addition to the music, and that is just sexy. he's fat and stupid now, though, so i'm talking about the Danzig of Christmas Past here.

3. david bowie - I WANT PART OF HIM INSIDE OF ME.

good new and bad news for tonight. the neighbors regrouped after the slaughter this afternoon, and are moving in like wolves. the fence is not nearly tall enough.

the food has definitely gone weird on me. i should not have built that bomb out of the refrigerator coils and battery acid. i still have some dry goods and canned food left over though, should last through the end of the week if i ration them out. low on water; the main burst a few days ago, and it's been pretty dry recently.

the good news is that i got the station wagon to start a few hours ago! it turned out just to be the starter had died. i gave it a few whacks with a hammer, and it turned over. gotta do something about that transmission, though.

i set up a little acetylene torch, got a pair of my goggles, and got to work on the body, welding a makeshift cattle pusher onto the front out of some corrugated tin from the carport. i'm going to see if i can't run a charge into it from the battery, using the alligator clips and maybe a power transformer from the downed power line.

i've already knocked all the windows out of it and installed a rollbar. it's been a pretty productive 8 hours, full days' work. i really should clear out the transmission before i go anywhere in that thing, but i can probably get that done by tomorrow.

good news came today in the form of a commandeered army truck. some survivors from east cliff came through the neighborhood with a few flamethrowers and were torching all the neighbors in sight.

they were sizzling and popping like bacon in a frying pan. the flamethrowers also shot out jellied gasoline that stuck to the bodies after they had suffocated from smoke inhalation. the balding guy next door finally bit the dust.

the people in the truck saw me and threw me some water and clif bars they had looted from the trader joe's by the mall. what a nice bunch of folks. they also brought news from that side of town. apparently 7th avenue area is pretty deserted. once i finish putting armor on my bike, i'm heading over there to find shelby.

we last talked a few days ago, i was able to squeeze a little bit more of a signal out of my cell phone by standing on the roof. she said she's doing well, their house is pretty well protected because her stepdad has a flamethrower left over from burning man.

the neighbors have me surrounded. i don't know how much longer i can hold out; food is running low.

the electric fence is pretty dinged up from repeated attacks, but thankfully none of them have broken through yet. i did have a close call earlier though, a juvenile tried climbing a pile of bodies to jump over, but i picked him off with the crossbow.

i'm low on shells, the air drops have stopped. i hope joey is ok.

i was woken up several minutes ago by the couple across the street. they were screeching loudly at my kitchen light. i think they were trying to get the guy next door to flank them as they charged. they're getting smarter every day, and i have to do something about all the bodies.
