At the house where my band practices, we have alot of strange things happening there...UNEXPLAINED things, PARANORMAL things. Even in one of our pics of a bonfire show that we had on the property, there appeared to be a ghost of a woman standing right beside us as we played. Of course, we've tried to make a logical explanation for everything, until last night......................
Last night, we had probelm after problem with all of our electronic equippment, nothing was going right. At first we just blamed technology, like anyone else would have at that moment.
Then we noticed at least a 20 degree temperature drop in one of the rooms there. We started talking about how, a drawer had popped open on the dresser the night before...that drawer is hard for us to open, and it was just sitting there wide open. Then one of my bandmates said she was sitting on the couch, and it felt like someone had sat beside her...the couch even sunk down in that spot!
So, i came up with a wild idea......
i said ''with all this activity around here we should do a video recording and an audio recording through the house, and see if we catch anything.''
i said ''if we catch an actual spirit talking, we could use it as a sound sample in a song. how many other bands have EVP recordings of actual ghosts in their music?''.
Well...THIS BAND DOES, NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We turned off all the lights, and all the electronic equippment. The only thing on was the video camera, and the recorder.
We started asking questions.......''Is there anyone here with us? Are you a man or a woman?'' we saw a little spike in the recording after that, like something spoke, but we couldn't hear it. Then we asked ''How old are you?'', and there was another spike in the recording, but we couldn't hear anything.
We amplified that part of the recording, and played it back....and what we heard has shocked us forever. In resonse to the question ''How old are you?'', there is a voice saying two words clearly....''I'm Old''!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After that part of the recording, we asked for a sign.....there was a knock on the wall.
We said ''Could you do that again, just to make sure?''.....there were 2 knocks on the wall, instantly!
We said ''Could you do it just one more time, so we know we're not crazy?'' There were multiple knocks on the wall, immediately!
The next question was ''Is it just you, or are there more of you?''....then a knock came from another part of the house!!!!!!!!!!
And that is when we concluded our EVP session!!!!!!
We listened to the playback over and over...crying from fear, shock, and a slight bit of excitement...but mostly, just feeling like we really fucked up, because now our illusion of privacy is gone forever!!!!!!!!
But anyways....we went through the work, and the trauma of getting on actual spirit on recording, and we are going to use the sound sample of it in a song on our next EP!
And, we're still going to be making music in that house, and we've talked about trying to get more EVP sound samples, and hopefully some video footage.
Our video camera had 93 minutes left, and half a battery left, when it decided to shut off on us....strangely after we had gotten the footage of the goosebumps on our arms, when there was that weird temperature drop, and we were getting ready to leave the camera pointed at a spot where we've seen a shadow go across the room a few times. All that footage magically got erased!
But, we may try again.....at least we have the audio recording.
Many people will hear it, and probably think it's a fake...since there is no video, and no professional ghost hunting crew was there.
We know the truth, and we are not liars, we do not do anything fake....everything we do has to be real and raw, and that's what that recording is.
At first we were happy to find out we weren't crazy, that all the strange things that have been happenong aren't in our mind.
But then i realized....you have to be fucking insane to sit there in the dark, and try to catch a ghost speaking, just so you can have an edge in the music scene that no one else has!
