And how do we all become happy? By taking responsibility for it - by first recognising that our happiness is not dependent on what is going on around us - by our relationships, with a lover, with money, with a family member, with work, with anything. There is nothing EXTERNAL that is responsible for whether we feel happy or not. It is all about how we CHOOSE to respond to the external thing.
And as soon as we recognise that we are responsible, then like anything we are responsible for, we can change... we can make a decision to be happier, and we can start PRACTISING.

A truly, unconditional love for ourselves, and not just our beings, but for all out past, for everything that has ever happened, things that we have understood as happening to us, and things that we believe that we caused. ALL our past. And we can love all of it because we love ourselves right here right now.We love ourselves completely and totally - all of us. And all of us is made up of EVERYTHING that has ever happened to us...

And today I realised that I know what I am good at. I know what I want to do with the rest of my life. I know where my happiness lies...

Free, as the song goes, to do what I want, any old time. Mind you we are all free all the time, maybe we're just not sure of ourselves. So maybe the transformation is more about being more sure - becoming more aware of my self (or non-self as the case may be). Whatever it is, I'm enjoying it.

So the tale begins, the journey starts - or this leg of it anyway. And I am planning to live on love - to prove that other song correct - that love IS all you need. It is what underlies everything. It is the thing that all of us have in common. The bliss that comes from loving and being loved. And not just bliss but also the TRUST that comes from knowing that we are loved. Loved completely.

This is the time of change - being a pet, being on facebook, all part of a transformation, transition. An inbetween place as I move from one way of being to another.

After 3 years of caring for my dying mother, I am now free. After 24 years of raising beautiful boys to men, I am now free. After 30 years of choosing to toil for money, I am now free.

Liberation. Transition. The time is now - that is all there is.
