Hmm . . . I've been meaning to write this in my own words for a while. Dad read me this story from a Chinese newspaper and the story was spread a lot on the internet. I've been meaning to write something in my perspective but it did not really happen. I just retold the story.


This year in 2008, China hosted the Olympics. Before the Olympics could take place a tragedy in China occurred in Sichuan, China. An earthquake has hit one of the poorest parts of China. Sixty-nine thousand, one hundred eighty people are dead from the earthquake.

There was a woman that was crushed by the collapsed house. She was kneeling and her upper body was held up by her hands against the ground.

The rescue team thought she was doing some kind of bow but her body was pressed in a strange position. When a rescuer called for her, she gave no response and was declared dead after no response. The rescue team decided to move to the next building for they wanted to collect the bodies later.

As they walked on, one of the crew members decided to turn back and commanded the crew to turn back to the house again. He thought it was strange that the woman would be in that position if an Earthquake was going on. He managed to feel what was under the dead woman's body.

Underneath the body, he felt a child and it was alive. The team managed to rescue the baby. It was a boy about three to four months sleeping unharmed and peacefully. When the doctor for the team was checking the baby for signs of injury, he found a cell phone.

It said, "My baby, if you are alive, you must remember that I love you."

The doctor cried as well and all the people he passed the phone around.

It is amazing how great someone's love could be.
