In my hands there lies a rose blossom
A simple seed, its colour not yet known
What will decide, is the soil in which it’s sown
For this seed will grow, its force of life so strong
To come across a seed like this, I’ve waited for so long
The soil in my heart alone, though fertile, strong, and fired
Will blossom a rose of crimson red, of love, passion, and desire
The soil of her secret place, though caring, nurturing, and true
Will foster a rose of brightest yellow, of trust, friendship overdue
The soil of abandonment, where the blossom is discarded to desolation
Will be the harbinger of an empty rose, midnight black with sharpest thorns
Or by chance the soil of two souls, where passion, pain, and friendship flow
The birth of impossibility, a rose as blue as endless, soaring sky.... True love: know
But take your hand in mine, no soil in our palms,
A miracle will happen; If Faith is in our songs.
Watch that little seed still bloom
Its very roots nourished by the Moon.
For that’s the strength that lies within
This one little, copious seed that has no twin
And in our palms, it shall take on its one true shade
White, as pure as the remotest snow kissed glade
But what will become of that rose when
We must have our hands ourselves again?
