So, yeah....For the past four years now I've run a month-long blog series on MySpace-- yeah, I know, that and $6.75 will get me a smaller-than-it-should-be coffee at Starbucks or whatever passes for it in your neck of the woods-- on the weird and wonderful things associated with Halloween, the horror genre in general, etc., etc. The "Month of Horror" blog series (catchy, ain't it?) will start up around the end of September and run straight through to October 31. Last night was one of our busiest nights yet filming for BRING DOWN THE SUN. We had a really involved party scene, a choreographed fight scene (in an under-lit basement, no less), and the first dead body and scream-queen moment of the whole script. All of it came together really well and the actors and background players delivered like pros. We have a great bunch of people working on this movie. I'm excited to get it done and share it with everyone!

Color me impressed. DISTRICT 9 is doing better box office than G.I. JOE. I'm sure Peter Jackson's name being attached to D9 is helping it, but it's still nice to see an indie-style horror/science fiction picture doing this well, this late in the season. We've still got a few pretenders to the throne creeping up on us in the next week-- the really-seriously-this-time-last-one-for-sure "final" FINAL DESTINATION movie, and Zombie's HALLOWEEN 2: HALLOWEENIER. Oysh. >.< Be strong. Support the movies that deserve your support.

Wow. I feel like I just rolled into Racoon City, wondering, "Hmmm, where are all the people and where are all the cars and OH MY EFFING GAWD ZOMBIIIIEEEEEES!" Umm. Yeah. Somethin' like that. Anyway, I've been gone for a while-- a few months-- and I'm kinda, sorta, dippin' my toe back in the HP waters.

How's the things? And the stuff?

Not much to report here. Working muchly. Working on a horror movie, too, a feature I'm writing and directing called BRING DOWN THE SUN. That's taking up a lot of the free time I don't really have-- does that make any sense?-- but it's still been a lot of fun, and should be interesting, if nothing else, when all's said and done. (Here's a pic from one of our first skull sessions. It's me, Jeremey, Dave, Ben, and Erik, hangin' out in Bisbee and watchin' the hippies float by.)
