Erm, well I've always thought that petting was pretty pointless but it's a nice way to catch people's attention. But it's just supposed to symbolise when people pet their pets.

But the main idea is to buy people and be bought..and then buy your pets things and take them on trips etc. You can join herds too so you can meet people and stuff. [:
And there's thumbing which gets you and others points..
