When I was about 18 I was traveling with my uncle and a friend. The car that we were driving blew something and it was up to me as the smallest to wiggle under after they had jacked it up. I was under the wheel when one of them leaned on the front end of the car and it started to fall off the jack.They both grabbed the bumper and yelled for me to get out before it fell but I couldn't because the tire had crushed down so hard on my ribs pinning me to the ground. I got so scared seeing them slowly slipping and feeling the squeeze on my chest that I reached up , blew out all my air and turned the tire taking skin off as I scraped on the ground. I heard ribs crack but I got out.

There was this time that I was running down a drain pipe,(never mind what I was doing there),and the pipe was small enough that we had to crouch as we ran (yes I was with several other guys but that has nothing to do with this story). I hit one of those dark patches that are between openings from the outside, a real long one but I didn't slow down. All of a sudden the whole world lit up and this pain exploded in my forehead. I fell back and just lay there wondering what was going on. After a while I regained my senses and was able to get up to my knees. I had a huge bump right in the middle of my forehead that was oozing but not bleeding. There was a bent bit of steel sticking out of the top and bent over. I had hit the end straight on and bounced off. The bump took forever to go down but the bruising was not to bad.

I was climbing a tree once and I was using a thick leather belt and some rope over a branch real high up the tree. I was about half way up when the belt gave out and I drooped backwards slamming down on a large somewhat flat rock, from about fifteen feet up. My head was just over the edge and when I hit , it snapped back and hit the rock at a much steeper angle. When I woke up it was almost dark and it felt like my head was busted but I slowly rolled over and got up. There was a fair amount of blood on the rocks, from a cut , that turned out not to be very large. I staggered home, washed the cut and was fine in a few days. I should have broken my neck I think but didn't somehow.

One time I was poking around a building construction site, with some friends and I was walking through a doorway into another room, this room was only partly light, most of the room was completely black. As I stepped into the darkness for about two steps then the floor ended and I fell about five or six feet before smacking face first into the bottom. My friends came into the room and one of them turned on the light. I was lying on a floor that had steel rods sticking out of it and I had missed all of them. There was one by my head, my side and one way to close for comfort, right between my legs. I did have a big bump on my head.That was so wild.

Just the other night, I was outside my wife's work having a smoke before she went in. I was standing by the wall to stay out of the wind and she was standing closer to the road. I said wouldn't it be funny if a chunk of ice crushed me flat like an anvil, she said no it wouldn't. I said sure it would , stepping forward, turning and pointing up, just as a chunk of ice slammed into the sidewalk right where I had been standing.The ice had fallen from about eighty feet up and was on it's way down as I was making my joke. That one was almost to close.
