Thirteen ways of looking at a rose
By, Holly Huang
1.
Red as the flaming fire
Blooming
The passion of the red rose
Blazing
2.
The yellow rose bud
Waiting to blossom
Is like a dim light waiting for it’s time to shine
3.
Walking past by
Suddenly something has caught the eye
Within the bushes hides
The delicate roses
4.
The woman and the man
The rose in the middle
Alone in their own world
Nothing can distract them now
5.
Why do you still pick the roses?
Even though you know they might pierce your fingers
6.
So delicate, so fragile
So sudden, so surprising
So beautiful, so elegant
As it stands before your eyes
Quickly give it a glance
For the beauty of the rose is only transitoriness
7.
As the rose wither and fall
Please do not sorrow
Because it lived it best from stem to stern
8.
Even if it’s in the darkest corner
The sight of the rose can never be neglected
9.
The smell of the temptation
Kiss on the soft pedal
Wanting to feel
In the end
Knowing you will get pricked by the rose
Just makes you jump deeper into the snare
10.
Among the red the yellow the pink and the purple
White is the purest
That’s why when people leave
To the place beyond the clouds
They take the white rose with them
11.
Hush
Do you hear the silence in the air?
The silence which is coming out of the roses
Telling you
To come near
12.
Within the universe there is an earth
Within the earth there are the countries
Within the counties there are the cities
Within the cities there are the buildings
Besides the buildings there are the houses
Besides the houses there are the bushes
And within the bushes hides the roses
13.
The tender of the pedal
Sweeps on the surface of the water
