Fears

What goes bump in your night
causes you to run, to hide
from the good things in life
Knee jerk responses
to something new and different
from everything that came before
flight or fight moments
where you choose escape
over experiment
Fears keep you from finding out
if it could have been real
or only one sided
and lets you keep on hiding
from my candle lit here in the dark.

Folded Pages

If my heart were paper, I'd fold it in to a box
tape the edges close, and seal all the seams
create something like a prison
for all the little things, that seep and spill through

I once wrote how I felt, on hundreds of pages
Each mentions something different,
and rejected upon review by others
Creased deeply from folding and refolding
compacted small as can be
stacked neatly into my heart-box waiting

Little notes have been added to the pages,
ammendments if you will
references for future editors, footnotes and explinations

(I'm sorry) I gave too much too soon...
(I wish) I could change, but I won't...
I am who I am (it's too bad you didn't love me)...
I love you (but not as much as you love yourself)...
I hate how I feel (but time will make me forget)...
Friends first (because its all I have)
(I was lonely) Until I met you (and am again now your gone)


And on and on, until I'm sick of it all
I add this newest note, with all my other reminders
to be shut away and locked again
away from disappointment and self loathing
hidden between Hopes and Dreams

Apartment Hijinks III!

So more to show off...Carpets have been installed in the bedroom (purple) and living room (blue), and snap-in-place wood flooring is in the kitchen. The bedroom has had the electrical face panels put in and will have a door knob tomorrow...with a small paint touch up, the bedroom will be officially done. The living room also has electrical face panels, but still needs a ceiling and a little wiring....and the window pane my dad broke with the nail gun still to be replaced. The stove has had some work, the pipe is now black to match and the stones underneath it have been white washed and now has a base board edging. Paint also needs to be touched up in this room too. Kitchen floor was easy to put in, and the breakfast bar now has wheels so it's mobile throughout that room. The FRONT DOOR!!! has also been installed, but still needs a knob and lock. Kitchen and yet-to-be-built bathroom still have lots of work to be done in order to be livable, but we're halfway there!
