Once upon a time on a lampost far far away lived a gecko named Vladamir. Vlad was a average sort of lizard with a love of bug band music and pineapple upside cake.

But fair listener, there is something that should be known before we proceed with our tale, and that is this....all geckos once lived in comfortable obscurity with their houseplants and sunlamps. Simple happy lives that were just what they seemed. But all this was destroyed with the coming of the one they call "The Converter". He who shall not be named, he who rides the squeaky clean red convertible.

With his rise to power he brought machines-answering machines, machines that made toast, machines that could turn you into toast. All these hunks of wiring and chips and metal changed the gecko society. Made it into a fast paced cesspit that revolved around who had the most machines, the best, the biggest, the fastest.

Geckos began to move away from their houseplants, looking for the big city life. They band together three to a lampost, sure that a life of glitz and romance awaited them, just as The Converter said. But life in a lampost is not all it seems. Electrical fires, Giants, and Power Outages are all dangers that face lampost dwellers.

All these things the geckos found out too late. Too late to buy back their precious plants with massive square footage, too late to do anything but say good bye to the sun lamps they had sold on ebay to pay their outrageous rent.

Our hero grew up in this altered world, but his great uncle once removed on his mothers side had taught him right. Vlad was an upright lizard whose worst offense was jaywalking. This is his tale. It tells of how he came to fight the great injustices of The Converter...to be continued...
