dear Elsie,
damn. i've never written a letter like this. it bothers me to know that i will never ever see your face again. that i won't ever make you laugh. you had the best laugh. you know. one of the most amazing, infectious laughs i've ever heard. i know you are somewhere else now and you aren't in any more pain. for that much, i am grateful. that much i can say is fair. but i want you to know something; and i never got my chance to tell you. you reminded me of.. me. well, the best parts of me. you were so easy to be around, it was so easy to make you laugh. we were on the same page in the same book and reading the same paragraph. i wish i could hug you one more time. i wish i had had a chance to kiss you. i wish we had gotten to do a set together like we were kidding around about. i want you to know you took a gentle bite of my heart. and now you have a piece of it with you. it's sad right now and kinda busted; but don't let that stop you from shining on. i miss you. i mourn you. the entire world mourns you.
i wish i could hug you one more time. i wish i could make you laugh one more time.

the following poem is written by my owner Nenia, in her book The Shadow Harem

floral grey

it's cold and black
where there is supposed to be a heart
i always look back
through the hallways
the bedsheets
as i'm scraping the sand from between my toes
i wonder
where did all the pieces of me go

your fingerprints tattooed beneath my skin
my marrow is grey from your disease
i have cuts on my knees
and bruises on my thighs
tooth and nail
you're tearing me apart

i have pictures underneath my eyelids
each time i close my eyes
images flash
blink blink blink
too much to see
i can't think
blink blink blink
it's making me sick

holding myself together
i'm a walking sewing kit
a tangled mass of stitches
is my life
what's left of it
pins and needles
staples and thread
a patchwork plastic doll
i am nothing but a broken toy
now
that's all

cracked porcelain pale skin
blood red nails and lips
cobwebs in my hair

Torch~

I miss your smell and your style and your pure abiding way
miss your approach to life and your body in my bed
miss your take on anything and the music you would play
miss cracking up and wrestling, our debriefs at end of day

These are the things that I miss
These are not times for the weak of heart
These are the days of raw despondence
I never dreamed I would have to lay down my torch for you like this

I miss your neck and your gait and your sharing what you write
miss you walking through the front door documentries in your hand
miss traveling, our traveling and your fun and charming friends
miss our *escapes* getaways
And to watch you love that dog

These are the things that I miss
These are not times for the weak of heart
These are the days of raw despondence
I never dreamed I would have to lay down my torch for you like this
