Just got back from Shibaricon, it was my 3rd time & geisha's 1st time.
Shibaricon is an exercise in not being able to do everything... Workshops we wanted to attend were missed because of other competing things we wanted to do.
I usually leave large events dealing with some wicked sleep deprivation.
On Friday we flew in too late for the 1st session but once we got up to speed we saw:
Leon: Bondage for Mobility & Immobility.
Coo, ties, great presenter, hot & funny demo bunny
Lqqkout: Finding your style ( that was one packed with other presenters! ) Great discussions...
Lady Gold: Pegs & Rings ( I saw Ellie the nomad do this 2 years ago but only saw the end of the workshop, this one filled in all the gaps, I have been using pegs quite often in my stuff that last couple years ) ... I was the guy in the workshop with the bamboo pegs.
Mick & dee Luvbight: Karadas & Rope Dresses... Sweet! I finally know how to start & end rope dresses & how to make them with crossing & non-crossing knots!
The afternoon session on Saturday we blew off to head downtown with one of my friends who was also one of the presenters. The vending area at IML was GIGANTIC!!! I bought some cool & cheap stuff, a couple things I have been looking for for a while.
I attended Jay Wiseman: Rough Bondage ( disappointing ) geisha attended Tatu: History of Japanese Rope.
BossBondage: Sadistic Suspension ( A highlight of the trip! )
Mark Yu: Manipulation of the Bound ( not what we thought it was... I could not make it work for a number of reasons :/ )
Leon: the 2% class ( finally a way to sort of attend all the other workshops that I could not attend & get some of the gems! )
Mike West: Preparing & conditioning Hemp Rope. ( I have dome some in the past & now my next batch will be prepared much faster & end up being better rope )
Overall...
This is a must attend event for us. It is all the things I love in one non-stop 4 day weekend. Yes, it's expensive but considering all it has going for the rope lover, it's well worth it.
