The Karnborr Saga
I have been to many wars and battles. Even the Battle of Gol-Uldur. Maybe I should say, the carnage of Gol-Uldur. A few of us survived there. In the field of victory, with a broken sword and a shattered shield, I stood alone. A fire was burning in me. I could feel the power that kept me alive that day...
We charged. We charged and broke the first line of the enemy. Swords, axes, spears and shields met with a fierce anger. Lifeless bodies fell with our unstoppable storm. The clash was so strong, that moment I could see the hope of victory drain away in the eyes of our enemies. The Victory was near.
Dark clouds with the lightning of million drums covered the sky. The battle stopped. We loooked up in the sky to see what's happening, to see what kind of madness is coming.
A thunder hit the ground, shaking it. Stones flew hitting and killing men. A bright red light came out of teh ground and we saw her rise.
A girl with dark hair. Early twenties you would say. So thin, so fragile but so deadly and so agile in her black armor. A spear in her right hand, filthy. A shield on her left hand, with the dark lady carved in it.
She stood long. Curious ones deared to get near to her. Fools I say. Darn fools. Long she stood there and when she opened her eyes, fear filled the hearts of men. Her eyes, her red eyes with blood tears reigning. She looked at the battlefield with underestimation and said "Enough you died today with your own hand, now die some for me. My time has come!"
Her spear moved so fast and the hit the first man with a sound of thunder. Before his dead body fell, the second and the third has already been dead. And we charged again, hopeless...Man faded like autumn leaves in fornt of her spear. Her battlecry so loud and so dark. Even we could not understand, it made us freeze. But we fought, we fought and we fell. Swords and axes cut her. Hammers broke her shield. But she didn't stop. When her spear got broken, she trew her broken shield away and took her sword. It wasn't like anything I have seen before. No word can describe that slaughter.
Battle was lost. Battlefield was lost. Those of us who decided to fall back and fight anotherday, left the field. At the edge of the Fornmalk valley, I stopped and looked back. I saw her standing alone in the darkest shades of clouds. So dark, so fearful. A dark haired girl. The Dark Valkyrie.
