Town approves topless coffee shop
VASSALBORO, Maine (UPI) -- The planning board in a rural Maine town has approved plans for a topless coffee shop, and by the way, the vote was unanimous.

The Vassalboro Planning Board voted 5-0 Tuesday night to approve plans for a coffee shop with topless female servers at the former Grand View Motel. The vote came after the officials reviewed the business' application and considered such issues as traffic, parking and lighting, WMTW-TV, Portland, Maine, reported.

Some residents welcomed news of a business taking over the empty building, which has previously housed bars and restaurants.

"I say, bring the money in," resident Kevin Goodrich said. "People need jobs and it's a good place to go. The economy's not very good right now, so why not do it?"

On the other hand, some residents expressed fear that the topless coffee shop would attract an unsavory crowd.

"We just found out about it this morning and we are opposed to it," Debbie Jordan said. "It's not going to bring in a good crowd, and we've had those kinds of things in the past with it being a bar and it can get very loud."

Dalmatian births litter of 18
MELTON MOWBRAY, England (UPI) -- Experts said an 18-puppy litter born to a 3-year-old Dalmatian in Britain may be the largest on record in the country.

Adam and Nicola Morley of Melton Mowbray, England, said their dog, Button, gave birth recently to a litter of 18 puppies, one year after birthing a litter of 16, The Daily Mail reported.

"We were shocked when 18 were born and they were all alive and healthy," said Adam Morley, 40. "We feed all the pups several times a day because Button can't feed them all constantly. We all take it in turns -- mine's at 3 o'clock in the morning."

Veterinarian Con Hassett, who performed the Caesarean section on Buttons at Chine House Veterinary Hospital, said the litter may be the largest ever in Britain.

"I never heard of any breed of dog giving birth to 18. The real miracle is that they've survived this long because it's so hard to rear that many pups," Hassett said.

Couple weds in Taco Bell


NORMAL, Ill. (UPI) -- An Illinois couple who said they enjoyed hanging out at Taco Bell decided to marry there.

"It's appropriate. It's an off-beat relationship and we figured that would be off-beat," said Paul Brooks, 30, a professional videographer from Normal, Ill.

Friday night, Brooks wed Caragh Brooks, 21, an Australian artist and writer he met through an Internet dating service more than a year ago, The Pantagraph in Bloomington, Ill., reported.

Although the couple shared the same last name before marriage, they are not related.

The bride dressed in a $15 hot pink dress while the groom wore a lavender shirt and purple and magenta tie in honor of Taco Bell's colors. The entire wedding cost no more than $200, The Pantagraph reported.

"This is the way to go -- there's no stress," the groom's mother, Kathy Brooks, said shortly before the ceremony.

Southern Girl



Two bored casino dealers are waiting at the crap table. A very attractive Blonde woman from Alabama arrived and bet twenty-thousand dollars ($20,000) on a single roll of the dice. She said, "I hope you don't mind, but I feel much luckier when I play Topless." With that, she stripped to the waist; rolled the dice; and yelled, "Come on, Baby, Southern Girl needs new clothes!"

As the dice came to a stop, she jumped up-and-down, and squealed..."YES! YES! I WON! I WON!"

She hugged each of the dealers. Then she picked up her winnings and her clothes, and quickly departed.

The dealers stared at each other dumfounded. Finally, one of them asked, "What did she roll?"

The other answered, "I don't know. I thought you were watching."


Moral --- Not all Southerners are stupid. Not all blondes are dumb. But, all men..... are men.
