Just a little something for my little taphophile friends - here are some pictures from our wander around the South Brisbane cemetery a few weekends ago. It was a lot of fun and much eerier than Toowong. If you want to go along one Saturday night, let me know and remember, treat your cemeteries kindly and don't be in them after dark if you're not allowed to be!

As usual none of the pictures have been touched up or changed in any way...where would the fun be in that!! Chris is just handy with a camera :)

Taphophilia is the non-morbid love of funerals, graves, and cemeteries. A taphophile is a practitioner of taphophilia.

Taphophilia involves epitaphs, grave stone rubbings, photography, art, and history of (famous) deaths. An example of an individual’s expression of taphophilia is the character Harold in the movie Harold and Maude. Taphophilia should not be confused with necrophilia, which is a love of dead people.

Taphophilia is often, but not always, a component of the Goth subculture.
