I despise going into politics, yet since the release of the Reitz Video, my curiosity has flared a bit. For those who don't know of the vid, go scan for it on YouTube, on Kovsie Racist Video Reitz Hostel (I'm sure you should find it under one of those titles.) Anyways, I'm curious as to know how non-South Africans perceive us, especially the whole White vs. Black, ANC vs. DA, Zuma vs. Everybody else quarrels going on here, amongst other things.
Being a Bloemfonteiner, I am not used to much of anything happening in this city, let alone international stuff. Alas, I'm a bit secluded from the outside world, and watching propaganda on TV and in newspapers does not quite broaden my perspective.
So please, if you have the time, I would greatly appreciate it if you could share with me your views on SA, whether it be comments on our ever popular Apartheid regime, Mandela, or the rugby for that matter, your opinion will be valued.

Feeling patriotic today after visiting the National War Museum of the Boer Republic here in Bloem. I have not been there for quite a while and felt pretty guilty when I realised I had completely lost track of my history, ancestry and culture along the way.
Ek voel nostalgies vandag...geniet die patriotisme solank dit hou.

This song caused quite a stir upon its release and was tagged as a potential racist song (hahaha, what a joke)
It is set during the Anglo Boer war that was waged between the English and Boers back in 1900. The song is a cry of help to General Koos de la Rey, whom is deemed a war hero and named The Lion of West Transvaal.
Needless to say, the English subtitles aren't quite correct. Nice try though.
