I ran and ran and ran and ran
too far to let you get away from me.
I ran from the bright eyed stars
and from the Great Kopak Tree.

So now, I say and
turn away up to the
man in the moon.

We'll run forever more
together, and give up this room.
We'll run and run and run and run
til that sun gives way to the moon.

Dark Ophelia sinks beneath the surface,
life no longer visible in her weak body.
Her eyes close slowly,
The last breath left in a bubble that breaks the surface.
Dark Ophelia is no more

Dark Ophelia lowers herself, gracefully,
the cold water reflecting her heart’s content.
She smiles blissfully,
gently touching the water’s surface with her pale hands.
Her life will be over soon.

Dark Ophelia sways gently in the creeping water,
her dress billowing out beneath her.
She laughs and giggles,
her smile as lighthearted as the leaves that dipped in the water.
She gives in to the will of death.

Dark Ophelia sits around the cold water,
folding lilies in her hair.
Her contemptuous gaze holds all who watches
as her beauty never could.
Her anger stretches out to me.

Dark Ophelia gathers flowers,
preparing for a funeral.
She weaves them gently,
placing daffodils on outstretching branches.
I wish to save her from her despair.
