We are going to Ocean City for a family vacation this Thursday. I am uber excited. Sorry I haven't been on much guys. Been taking care of my dad. My house is a wreck and I haven't spent a day at home in waaaaayyy too long. Hopefully I will be back soon!

So my dad had his hip surgery today. He is recovering well. He is sleeping a lot and there is a long road ahead of us, but I am so relieved to have the surgery done and be able to start the next step.

I think I have been avoiding saying anything about this because I am almost in denial about it and treating it very cavalierly. Mainly because I don't have many options to fix it and because it is now one more thing that is wrong with me. And while I do like being able to get names for what's going on and being able to look at the possibilities to fix things...it's still one more thing.

So...it appears that I do in fact have nerve damage in my lower back and hips and that is where the majority of my lower back and hip pain is coming from. The most long term solution for this is more needles in my back. Except this time bigger ones where he can cartarize the nerves down there. Considering how much of my back/hips are in pain this would require a minimum of 8 separate carterizations. This may last upwards of 12 months...may. And considering how hard the simple injections were for me, I just don't know if I can do it. There are other things, like traction that can be tried, but we both agree that trying the acupuncture for some time is the best path for me right now. We are both hopeful that it will help alleviate some of the pain, if not all of it.
