Mother-in-law

This is amazing! Just a year ago, my mother-in-law wasn't talking to me. For the last 3 months, (olderson) has been banned from (otherwoman)'s home, so has not been able to go see his dad.

Today, I called mother-in-law to see if (olderson) could spend the night at her place Saturday night so I could have a datenight while (youngerson) is at his dad's place.

In the process, she gave me her opinion of (exhusband)'s treatment of (olderson). She is really disappointed in (exhusband) right now. She feels (olderson) has been away long enough, and his dad should see him.

It was so cool! Mother-in-law is on my side! Or maybe I should say, we have the same opinion on this matter.

One thing I said to her was "He still has his own place, so (olderson) doesn't have to visit at (otherwoman)'s house... but I can't say that to him." Well, maybe she can... maybe she will push (exhusband) to get back into (olderson)'s life.

At any rate, mother-in-law is quite willing to let (olderson) stay at her place from time to time.

My Fairy Tale

Once upon a time, a charming, intelligent princess met an equally charming and intelligent prince.

"This is wonderful," Thought the princess. "Here is a man who is interesting and fun to spend time with."

The two of them helped the Kingdom subjects minimize the taxes they had to pay, went on picnics in the park, discussed books and watched Star Trek Voyager on TV together. They talked about Art and Philosophy, Food and Travel.

The princess gazed deep into the prince's eyes and said "I find you intellectually stimulating".

"Is that all," asked the prince.

"What?" stammered the startled princess.

"Is that all you think of me as? An Intellectual being? I have a body, too, you know."

"I'm sorry," started the princess. "I have always thought of physical pleasure as secondary to matters of the mind."

"Why is that?" questioned the prince.

"If you think of it logically, one spends more hours of the day involved in intellectual pursuits than one does on physical pursuits. It only makes sense that your brain be of more interest to me than your body."

"I disagree," stated the prince.

"Let's hear your rebuttal, then."

The prince approached the princess, took her firmly in his arms, and in a near-whisper said "first of all..." and kissed her.

He lowered the princess gently down on the soft, green grass in the shade of a big tree and ran his hands up and down her body. "Secondly," he said, as he began to kiss her neck.

"My third point," he continued, and he kissed his way from her ankle, slowly up her leg.

On and on prince went, making point after point. Eventually, the sun went down, and they found themselves wrapped in each others' arms in the moonlight.

"Well," gasped the princess. "You certainly make a good arguement."

Rolling over to lie on top of the prince, the princess once again looked deep into his eyes.

"I see your point," she whispered. "Physical pleasure is every bit as important as intellectual stimulation."

She slowly kissed a line from his lips to his ear, and in her softest voice, she said:

"I love your body. I love your mind. You are a complete package."

I phoned BC Supreme Court today. The judge signed my Divorce Order. As of April 7, 2008, I am officially divorced.

I am not quite sure how to feel.

On one hand, I am sad that we had to end this way. Marriage is supposed to be forever.

On the other hand, it leaves me free to be with my new man.

My new man and I have alot in common. We enjoy doing things together. He is smart, funny, interesting.

And his wife left him for someone else.

It is sad that we had to come together because our spouses abandonned us.

We are lucky to have found each other when it happened.

Yesterday after work, I drove over to a friends' house. She had two male friends there, who loaded her St Bernard into the back seat of my car. We then drove over to the vet's office. The guys met us there, and unloaded to St Bernard (whose name happens to be Roxy) and carried her into the exam room.

One of the guys went back outside and waited. The remaining three of us stayed with Roxy as the vet gave her a sedative to help her relax. We were all petting Roxy, and talking about things we had done with her. Then the vet returned.

The vet gave Roxy another injection. She stopped panting. Her head grew heavy, and she let it rest on her paws. She fell asleep. Her breathing slowed. And slowed. And slowed.

Then it was over.

She will be creamated, and her ashes buried in the mountains she loved.

We will all miss her.
