It's been so long since I have been on here. Been very very busy with dad. He had 11 weeks in hospital. He had a couple of complications but should be on the mend now.

I've had 5 weeks off work, I had skin cancer removed from my nose and a skin graft. This was about the 4th operation on my nose so it better be the last. The surgeon took the skin from my neck. In 12 months time, I need to go back and touch up the skin graft. I might get her to remodel my nose next time :)

Update on dad. When the surgeon did another biopsy on dads voicebox, he decided they might be able to laser the cancer off rather than go the radical route of a laryngectomy. They tried but wasn't successful because the cancer had spread to surrounding tissues., Anyway, after about 4 cancellations, dad finally had his operation yesterday. All is going well so far.

Last year my dad had throat cancer, it was on his vocal cords. He had radiation treatment for almost 4 months, 5 days a week. He finished treatment in late October. He was given the all clear in December.

Unfortunately now it's back and it's quite aggressive. It's cutting off his breathing and he has no option but to have his voice box removed. The operation will be made more complicated due to having radiation recently, swelling and scarring in that area.

This is quite devastating for dad, he is still trying to come to terms with mum passing away and he has not recovered properly from his treatment last year. He is 72. He has 6 children (I'm the youngest) and we will all rally around and support him and help him get through this.

Because of the long road ahead with dad, I'm not sure how often I will be on HP. I will be dropping by when I can.

Long weekend this weekend and I am looking after my spoilt 3 year old niece. I am thrilled to bits!! She is going to find out that her mummy and her aunty are 2 very different people lol.
