Poisoned Spring
What does it mean spring is here?
Wind to blow the dust out of crevices best left hidden,
Scouring clean truths better obscured.
What does it mean spring is here?
Secrets sprouting forth like tulips
Once preserved in frozen soil.
What does it mean spring is here?
Warm air thaws my heart, previously encased in ice.
Blood starts to flow again.
Light infuses the shadows,
Night no longer rules here.
I liked it better in the dark.
