STORM
As the dust settles, the sun sets over the vacant evening.
The spirit points west, toward the facing moon.
A silent wind steals through the red desert and stirs the sands from their slumber. The silent stir becomes a wail that echos off the land. Unprepared, but the mountains, forewarned of the ominous black.
Night is once more as the furious storm drags its cloaked hide slowly across the sky.
The deserts life seek shelter, and scuttle to their homes.
The trees who have breath, pull their branches in tight and blanket themselves from the cold.
But two remain. Dancing, laughing, singing to the rain.
They worry not of the fury that rages above, but delight in it's wrath. For they fear not of tribulation.
He pauses once, to watch her, entranced, for she is beauty.
Lost in the throws of her effect, he trembles.
Watching her sway and twirl, he smiles. For alone he is nothing, but together they are one.
They move together, and as one embrace, held tightly against the outside he whispers in her ear, something unheard, but she smiles and understands for she knows his soul, knows his mind and owns his heart.
Lightning arcs toward the earth and strikes a lonely tree beside, then retreats timidly to a blackened sky.
Quietly burning, the stricken tree calls them with warm glow, heated fingers reach out to enclose them in it's grasp. close together they sit. As the fire lights kindred souls, their lips touch, belated thunder cracks above them, but is lost in their pleasure.
He sees naught but her, all fades but the image before him, glowing in the dim sullen light.
Their tongues entwine and hands grasp tight, two hearts reaching, longing to meld, to heal the sweet sorrow within.
