there is a break in the hills at a midway point, wandering up through the mountains. you stand at the crest of a long climb, drops to your left and right. the lush green of trees and bushes hides the prickly swamps i know to sit at the bottom of the right hand cliff. knee deep in mud if you don't scale across fallen tree trunks. the drop is to steep to descend, sheer cliff from this raise. i couldn't tell you how to get there, though i have been. to the left is a cliff drop of equally daunting angles. at the bottom of the valley below there lies a waterfall. the second in a series as the river feeds down through the mountains, to become the river i have always known. i have never been there, down that cliff. i have only seen that waterfall at a distance, standing so high above it, on that break in my climb.
