I think you'd look great as either one.

For one or the other, check out thrift shoppes and such for similar or the same sort of clothing. If it's the wrong colour, you can always take it apart and use it as a pattern to make another in the right colour :P (just remember how it went together lolz)

Alteration is always the cheapest and easiest way to make a costume.
