Today I was offered 401 K plans at work. Full medical insurance benefits are to follow in another 30 days. I already have a good health insurance plan (through my dad's work), though it will be good to have my own plan soon. And I suppose a 401 K isn't such a bad idea. It would be wise to think further into the future. Never thought I would be one for making investments. "Growing up," is freaking me out!

In spite of my freak accidental finger decapitation, this week has been totally awesome. Yesterday I was hired as assistant manager for a Safeway bakery. That's what I do, I am a baker working on becoming a pastry chef. I am stoked! This is a fairly large stepping stone in launching my career over the next few years. And aside from the new job, I have also re connected with several old friends. What a great day!

well, i managed to chop off the corner of my index finger. i was cutting lettuce while cooking dinner and my finger got right in the way of my knife (ha! stupid finger, shoulda stood clear...). i felt my finger catch on the blade but didnt think much of it until i looked down. quickly made it to the sink before spilling any blood. as i was rinsing my hand i noticed the chunk of skin and fingernail go down the drain. crap. story ends with me in urgent care and a whole lot of blood. i'll be fine. but boy does my finger hurt. and i would give a longer description, but it's hard to type with a deformed hand.
