so yeah im back.but i dont think i'll be for long here.been working my ass out for this telco company.the pay is damn good, yeah damn good, especially for my qualification,im now wearing converse and alan delons to work and surprisingly since i started working,i have started wearing perfume, something that i dont use to do.i still remember back then when i used to work in the fast food line, the pay was just enough for you alone, and you'll be dreaming of getting your hands on the stuff that everyone has.but the reason im posting this entry is not bout the pay,its basically bout the working environment.
ever asked an Indonesian contractor or a Malay stall worker or an Indian newspaper delivery man if theyre happy with their job? i did,and they said that they are.come over to my office, and go ask around if we're happy with our job.lol
i know its no use comparing working in McD's or Starbucks or even PizzaHuts with Maxis a gigantic company, that has almost like 60% of market share in the telco business in this country.but what is the use of working there if everytime you go down for a ciggie break wtih your colleagues, you be hearing em complaining bout work or worst, you'll be hearing yourself complaining bout everything at work.
since i started working,i realized my social life was left behind, and i am now tagged as a workaholic by my buddies,no more futsal,no more dota,no more counter strike,no more overage pranks,no more tvs,no more internet surfing, and worst no more newspapers.i now have no time for all that.not only that im starting to turn myself into a monster,my patience is running thin.i explode in a blink of an eye.i used to be a cool driver especially in traffic jams, not anymore,id shout at the next car coming in my lane without a signal lights on.
stupid? yeah tell me bout it.
quoting an ol timer who had worked ther for 8 years (and still working):
'the difference between you and me is that you have a qualification,a cert, why stay here if youre not happy working here? why complain if you can go work else where.other companies want you, they want your specialty and skills.dont be the others kid, youve got talent, why stay if youre not happy?"
those words did really struck me like lightning.i was like yeah, what the hell was i thinking?
later that that day, while walking towards a restaurant for a dinner, not sure from where it was coming from but it went something like this "everyday we dream something big,but if you do nothing bout your dream, you get nothing, move yourself and surely you'll get there"
moral of the story:money can't buy happiness.
the author of this post is currently fed up working for his current company and has now decided that it is now time to get himself a new job.fin
