Countess' Remains

From ones cradle to the grave
cast amungst a common crypt
sweet Countess, meet your twisted nightmare.

Cursed ghost escape before dawn,
await Deaths unwritten fate
foul Countess, count the hours eternity lasts.

Pray at the firey gates of Hell,
hollow screams scarcely heard in Heaven
haunted Countess, beg forgiveness for your sins.

Poison stained demise
Lucifer awaits his Queen
wounded Countess, watch your fall from grace.

Mere mortals painful death
bloody whore rot in your chosen grave
forgotten Countess, only bones remain.

Morning Slumber

A bright light peers through the living room curtains.
Stretching across the pale carpet, to the end of the room, nothing altering its path.
She's in a different world.
One not quite awake, yet
hardly asleep.
She stares at the light,
lost. She stares
and yet doesn't see.
Dreaming, she notices not her cat
saunter in. Grey and fluffy, he purrs at her feet.
Aching for a pet, he presses against her.
Her zombie-like state fails to change,
as her lifeless hand gently tends to her cats needs.
She pulls her legs into her.
Now crossed, still staring at the light
from her perch on the couch,
she opens her mouth to speak.
Unable to utter a word,
a puzzled look dances across her face.
She clears
her throat,
and opens her mouth once again.
Blinking.
Awakening from her near slumber
she turns to her happy companion,
...
..

Bittersweet Goodbye

She shakes for a moment.
The nearly empty bottle colliding with the floor.
1, 2, 3 pills left.
The mirror in front of her face seems a million miles away.
She's lost herself, watching herself fall.
"I'm sorry," her cracked and bleeding lips purse
releasing a sad goodbye.
Her misty eyes blink,
1, 2, 3 tears fall.
"I wish I were stronger," she thought she was.
"I wish you weren't gone," sadly he was.
"I wish you would hold my hand," he never let go.
"I wish it were me."
She breaths in, chokes out.
Her lifeless eyes close, she's tired.
She sees him,
smiling,
running to his welcoming arms.
Aching for his touch,
yearning to be with him once more.
1, 2, 3 years without him,
and one moment of peace.

Imagine

It was just as she'd imagined it.
Cool, calm, blue.
She closed her eyes and pulled her sweater closed,
while her toes mixed sand with water.
The sun had barely started to rise,
the warm beams tickling her face,
and already she knew today would be a perfect one.
Smiling,
she stood there.
Eyes lit like Christmas morning.
It was just as she'd imagined it.
Cool, calm, blue.
Her perfect day, her perfect
Ocean view.
