Yesterday ended a chapter in my life, as my 15 year old cat was helped on his way to eternal rest. With kidney and heart disease, he became too ill to fight off a cold, and finally decided his time had come when he refused to take food or water.

He became a part of my family as a tiny 3 week old kitten, born on a farm to a short-haired tabby named Sacha, he was the only long-haired white kitten of the three. He's travelled the length and breadth of the UK, sailed across the English and Irish Channels and been a regular visitor to the French, Dutch, Belgian and German borders.. He's made good use of all his nine lives, taking on badgers, foxes, dogs, cars, vans and articulated lorries.. with only minimal damage to himself..! He's been a faithful, well-loved member of my family, and we'll miss him so much..

I cannot believe I was banned from HP for a picture that is perfectly acceptable on Facebook..!! Have HP suddenly become all prudish and decided to start vetting pictures, even though Facebook have no problem with them..??
Guess I better put the 'appropriate' picture back up.. can't have my poor owner left with a blank space where his beloved pet used to be..!! :(
Its a good thing I have more than 15 friends to invite to this application, or I may never have returned, although I'm not sure I am happy inviting my friends to an application that bans them with no warning, for something so ridiculous..!!! Perhaps HP should specify only facial shots allowed...

Having spent the best part of the past 35 years being as tomboy-ish and ungirly as possible, I suddenly find myself behaving in an extremely girly fashion.. worrying about my hair, panicking over the fact that the dress (!!!!!!) I want to wear to a ball and the shoes do not quite match.. and working out where to go shopping!! :O
HELP!!! What the hell is going on..????
Am I in a parallel world, where my parallel 'me' is all girly and into shopping, dresses, pink and ribbons..?? (Aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrggghhh!!! No, please... anything but that..!!)..
Is it the knowledge that I am not getting any younger unleashing the little girl in me, without me realising.. and she is even now, surreptitiously inventing the 'me' my mother wished I had been...?? (Where is the little witch, so I can lock her up and throw the key away.!)..
Has my age crept up on me, and finally I am losing my mind..?? Come on.. dresses..!! The one thing I have stubbornly refused to even consider owning since the age of 9.. and now I have 4..!! And shopping.. I HATE shopping.. even food shopping bores me to tears.. and Saturday's spent in town window shopping will have me on the verge of depression... and here I am, actually planning a trip to buy accessories..!!! Where are my jeans, and boots and t-shirts.. my leather jacket and 'couldn't give a toss about fashion' sense of style..??? Since when did I start checking myself out in the mirror, making sure I didn't have a VPL and becoming concerned about the latest season's colours..??!! (Although granted, I still wouldn't be seen dead - or alive.. in pink..!!)

Can the real Ruth Crumpler please stand up..?!!!

The Computer Age is all very well.. Designed to make life easier, give us on the spot access to the World Wide Web and provide answers and convenience on demand.. let us keep in contact with friends and family all over the World, let us watch TV and listen to the Radio in other countries.. aint it just fantastic..? Bill Gates.. what a genius..!! Perhaps he could now explain why my bloody stupid hunk of crap PC doesn't do a damn thing I want it to..!! Refusing to connect to the Net, despite having an excellent signal strength and over 84Mbps.. until it gets verbally abused.. obviously there's a magic word amongst the colloquial vocabulary used that only computers understand.. Once online, it then refuses to access the same website it accessed only 12 hours before, with the same username and password as before.. (obviously more colloquial magic is needed).. once connected to the website, it refuses to access messages and delete requests.. grr!
What was that about making life easier..??? They are nothing but a bloody nuisance and cause more stress than they cure.. for the 5th time this year, I am going to have to get someone to have a look at the darn thing and work out why it is being so obstinate and acting like a three-year old human.. yet again, paying for the privilege of being told it is down to user error... I think not..!!!! I am starting to think these things were designed to cause as much disruption to human life as possible.. Bill Gates, a genius.. Hmmmm... I wonder..!!! :)

After being passed to and fro between complete strangers (which is quite rude you know..!!!), I finally have a new owner.. and a rather yummy one at that :) ... Thanks to all my friends who rushed to buy me the second I came onto the market, in your haste to own my fine ass, you forgot to collect me from the checkout.!!. *humph*
I shall not forget such an insult..!!.. well, actually, give it a week and I probably will... you know what my memory's like :)
As things stand, I am very well (no thanks to you lot) and tolerating life amongst the dregs of British humanity... and I do mean, the dregs..!
The Germans are great, although abrupt and intolerant, but at least you know where you stand with them... and I'm getting quite a fondness for Bratwurst and Frikkadella's.. although the local Greek takeaway is becoming my second home.. ;O)
