Green and red ribbons along the hall, the start of winter and the end of fall.
The Christmas season is upon us fast, the food is plenty, the friends are vast.
The joyful season is built on love and joy on the face of every girl and boy.
Rip the wrapping and dress the tree, what a wonderful Christmas this will be!!!

Angels

An angels teardrop falls from the sky, as she sits all alone and quietly cries.
A man is wounded in a bitter war, as she sits at home alone on the floor.
A child is weeping sad in the night, as she sits at home alone in fright.
An angel is falling from heavenly skies, as she sits at home and quietly cries.

She stares out a window to a bitter cold world, filled with hatered and anger and sins so unsure.
She looks to sky in the darkest of light and feels in her heart such a terriable fright.
She asks God a question in a whisper so soft, that her tiny voice is certainly lost.

She walks with the wounded in the midst of a war, and feels such pity for a world so unpure.

My Grave (A Poem About Domestic Assault)

I walked down a very wrong path the day I followed you, the path that led me to the bottom, was love I thought was true.

I was hurt so bad I could hardly stand, but I remained there by your side. Through each and every lonely day my heart broke more each time I cried.

Through most of the path I walked alone in the direction that you gave, little did I know I would be walking to my grave.

I was blind to all the signs posted along the way, our love was so different supposed to be perfect, and that’s what made me stay.

I may have fallen a few times along the bumpy road, I may have been bruised and battered but that is how it goes.

Until one day when I was walking and I saw you along the side, I reached out to touch you but you just ran to hide.

I knew at that moment I had to find a fork in the road, because to my grave I was walking silently on my own.

Violence

Look into her eyes this child all of 5, Please watch her as she dies and tell her its alright. Explain to her why you fight. She was sleeping in her bed when the bullet shot her head now she’s dead in the night.

Violence as a passing, live it as your life. The gun shots in the darkness break the morning light, you never hear the sirens because they are too afraid to call, another fallen angel has to fall.

Look into his face this child all of 8, Please watch him as he cries and tell him its alright. Explain to him why you fight. When his father went to work and is now buried in the dirt, take away his hurt this time.

Look down at your guns as you hold them in your hands, think of the family of that dying man, think of your families as you hold that gun, tell me that the war is won. Think about your future and that of your children to come, tell that the war is won.

Tiny Eyes

These tiny hands have felt more pain than you will ever know,
These tiny eyes have seen more things than they ever care to show.

These tiny feet have ran to a place so very far away.
This tiny soul has felt more shame than it ever cares to say.

Inside this tiny being, lies a secret dark and deep,
Of abuse, and pain, and hatred, that will make a grown man weep.

Inside this tiny child lies a broken little heart,
That was shattered, and bruised, and stepped on , and slowly ripped apart.

Behind those eyes lies terror at the hands of a trusted friend.
Behind those tears lies longing for this horror to finally end.

Inside this tiny soul is a child locked so tight.
Inside this tiny soul is a hatred full of might.

But you pass right by this child, ignorant and unaware.
How can you not see this child? How can you not care?

Do you miss the signs in the tiny eyes so bitter and unsure?
Do you miss the signs on the broken heart, that once was whole and pure?

The eyes of this tiny child tell of something horriably true,
The eyes of this tiny child are looking straight at you!
