I first saw you in a dream.

You glowed.
Your hair would change colors
Before my eyes.
Like you.
You were never happy with it.
(You were never happy with much.)
But your eyes,
Eternal.
I knew you from those eyes.
They revealed more
Than you would tell me.
Your lips never spoke,
Only kissed me.
Oh, and when you would smile,
I was terrified.
(Because you know something.)
When you smile,
I see you beyond this dream.
You are (almost) real.
But your hair changes
Yet again.
(Why am I surprised?)
And your smile is cruel
Like an angel.

But those eyes,
They are not what I thought they would be.
They are more -

They are different.
(They are red. No, bloodshot.)
They are real.
