Sometimes I wonder if anyone takes the time to read long, drawn out tales. Personally, I don't bother and just thumb away because I tend to get lazy.. or quite frankly, not interested. But what if I miss the substance of a person by superficially and mindlessly thumbing their tales without reading? What an injustice.

A friend of mine needed me to babysit her son for 4-6 hours on Friday.. and willingly I obliged. I adore her baby to pieces. Unfortunately, it was later discovered that he had a highly contagious stomach flu that left him, me, my family, and 2 of my friends with constant vomiting and.. yes.. the runs. That 4-6 hours turned into 12.5 hours, and what she was supposed to do during that time didn't happen. Instead, she frolicked around with her husband, had breakfast, and slept the day away.. all while I was cleaning up baby puke and diiiirty diapers. Never again, I tell you.. never again.

Random thought: Tonight i was reading a comment someone had posted and smiled to myself.. then I glanced up and saw myself in the mirror. How odd I look - sitting there in front of a computer just smiling. Then I thought back to the numerous times I've had great conversations with people that caused me to smile or even to laugh OUT LOUD. This train of thought stopped abruptly when I realized that, for over five years, I worked in a psychiatric office and spent a lot of my work hours online chatting. I wonder what our patients must have thought...
