SPREAD THE LOVE!!!

Today at school my friend and I made up 350 stickers that said "I love you!" hand written on them. At lunch we stood in the busiest part of the college and handed them out to people.

This wasn't a project or assignment, and though it proved a lot about the human condition it wasn't a social experiment either. We were just trying to make people have a little more love in their day! A love revolution! (though that title has been hindered by the fact Lenny Kravitz new album is that same title)

It was one of the most gratifying experiences of my life! Some people were having such a bad day until we handed them those stickers! They stopped right in their tracks, looked at us, told us how bad of a mood they were in, and how this made them so happy! One guy stopped and said "I don't even know you, but that was the most amazing thing someone could have done for me, I was having a terrible day, and now, now... oh, you, come here!" And he gave me the biggest hug ever! When he walked by later, he gave me another hug! Hehehe

People started talking about it for the rest of the day, and people were trading off their stickers with other people's stickers. I saw a girl give some random guy her "I love you!" sticker, and he gave his to her! It was so beautiful!

And now my college has all these happy little reminders all over the place to cheer people up when they are feeling blue. There are stickers on lockers, on phone booths, at the bus stop, when I was walking home from school I saw one on a tree and on the back of someone's backpack! People put them on their hats and shirts, stuck them onto their binders!

Lenny Kravitz, I don't know if you actually think you are starting a love revolution or not, but 2 college girls with 350 "I love you!" stickers today got people talking! That's what I call a good beginning to spreading the love!

Learn about Zion:

Zion is a term that most often designates the Land of Israel and its capital, Jerusalem. The word is found in texts dating back almost three millennia. It commonly referred to a specific mountain near Jerusalem (Mount Zion), on which stood a Jebusite fortress of the same name that was conquered by David and was named the City of David.

The Jewish longing for Zion, starting with the deportation and enslavement of Jews during the Babylonian captivity, was adopted as a metaphor by Christianized Black slaves. Thus, Zion symbolizes a longing by wandering peoples for a safe homeland. This could be a literal place such as in Ethiopia for Rastafari for example. For others, it has taken on a more spiritual meaning—a safe spiritual homeland, like in heaven, or a kind of peace of mind in one's present life.

For Rastafarians, Zion is to be found in Africa, and more specifically in Ethiopia, where the term is also in use. Some Rastas believe themselves to represent the Children of Israel in modern times, and their goal is to repatriate to Africa, or to Zion.

"Zion" stands for a Utopian place of unity, peace and freedom, as opposed to "Babylon," the oppressing and exploiting system of the western world and a place of evil.

Zion to me, is inner peace, unity with oneself and the world around you. Zion is comfort in knowing you have the strength to go on, and the power to control your own destiny.

My knowledge of Zion is through music influences such as Bob Marley, Damien Marley, Sublime, Lauryn Hill and other ska, dub and irie music.

So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell,
blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?

And did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?
