Well heres something that doesnt happen every day... I've got a '85 VW rabbit convertable that I've been restoring. I'm working on the brakes on my car, and I was always told 'make sure you tighten the lug nuts twice, in the air and on the ground'. Well aparently I hadnt tightend the lug nuts on my left front tire enough...
I'm drivin down the highway with my two brothers in the car with me (both younger) and all of a sudden the whole front of the car starts wobbling. Its dark out and I have just enough time to see my left front tire in the headlights shoot straight off the side of my car going 45 mph, yell "HOLY SHIT!" and the whole front left end of my car drags on the ground to a screeching halt 200 feet down the exit ramp off the highway. My brothers nearly pissed themselves and the one sitting next to me almost broke my shoulder when he gripped it as the event happend. heh, well long story short I was able to repair the damage to the car, it runs fine again and I allways remember to and tell everyone else who takes the wheels off thier car to work on it, TIGHTEN YOUR NUTS!
