the last big rainstorm we had here in the LA area caused our apartment ceiling to leak profusely to the point where we had around 10 receptacles in our living room to catch the water dripping down! my roomies and i were forced to move the living room furniture to a dryer area. the whole thing was really depressing to come home to. the worst part is management did NOTHING about it,even when we called the "emergency" line, nothing was done and we even got hung up on!!
oh and did i mention we live on the first floor?? by the time the water traveled from the roof, through two other floors above us, it came dripping down all yellowish red and stinky!! eww!!
so finally today (after 2 weeks!) they finished fixing our ceiling and painting the walls that were smeared with water. but they still have to do something about our carpet. all they're going to do is "dry" it, which is stupid cuz it's already dry. they need to replace it cuz i'm sure it has mold growing on it!! gross.
so now our apartment smells of fresh paint, which gives the illusion that everything is ok, when in reality we are still living with hazardous carpet!
just thought i'd share a little bit of what's going on at home =]
