She was so angry she was shaking, her fur was standing on end and as she pressed herself into the ground she could feel her own heartbeat racing in her chest. She hated feeling so angry and yet at the same time she loved the fact that she was feeling something. Usually she was empty, just living each day because there was nothing better to do. Her eyes were normally lifeless and dull but tonight they shone like emeralds, burning fiercely as she growled. She might be torn apart inside but she could still hate with passion. It was he who had broken her, his mouth that had ripped her spirit to pieces and all that he had left her with was this all consuming hate.
With a snarl she flew at his unprotected back and as her teeth sank into his neck and her mouth filled with his copper-sweet blood she felt her spirit start to heal - she could fight back. She would fight back.

She could not break.

Her startlingly green eyes pierced the night. Rain made rivulets through her fur as it poured down relentlessly but still she wouldn't blink; nothing could make her look away. Almost hidden in the darkness was a second shape, crouched and silent. It appeared to be breathing but that could simply have been an illusion in the dim light. Still she stared, she knew that if she blinked it would vanish. They always did. And she so hated to be alone.
